First Floor
Entrance hall / sitting / dining room.
The front door leads into this attractive oak beamed room with a woodburner and chestnut planked floor boards with rugs. This room also serves as the tv/wifi room.
A new oak staircase rises to the bedrooms above.
The tiled floor passageway gives access to the large Salon and to the north west facing covered balcony. (perfect for sundowners and evening outside dining).
A modern fitted kitchen in light maple, enjoys an abundance of light from 3 windows, with spectacular views to the west particularly at sunset. It is fully fitted with dishwasher, double sinks, double oven and 4 hob electric cooker ,microwave and large fridge freezer together with usual toaster, kettle, pots and pans etc. There are ample plates, dishes, cutlery and glasses.
The kitchen is separated from the dining room by double glass panelled doors and has a serving bar with a pull down blind.
At first floor living room level one is lead into the large salon with a solid oak floor and stone fireplace.
This room is 6m x6m and furnished with leather settes and chair,several rugs, large low coffee table, drinks cabinet, pictures,tapestry and lovely lined curtains.
The vaulted roof supported on large king post trusses makes this a splendid entertaining room with much character. The thick stone walls create a beautifully cool room in the heat of the day.
French windows lead out onto the south facing balcony overlooking part of the hamlet and courtyard, with pleasant views to the little church on the hill above and the surrounding woods. The balcony enjoys full sunshine for most of the day but also welcome shade from the roller awning and the courtyard tree.
Second Floor
Two comfortable bedrooms with king sized double beds, show all the old restored heavy oak roof trusses, giving these rooms great atmosphere. Both are fitted with large velux roof lights with blinds. these rooms are carpeted.
There is a fully tiled toilet shower room fitted between and shared by these two bedrooms.
Ground Floor
An oak staircase leads down from the Salon to the ground floor rooms. These comprise, the Master bedroom with a separate but adjoining single bedroom. Both are fitted with under floor electric heating with individual controls, the floors are fully tiled and both bedrooms have rugs.
The Master bedroom enjoys the large separate bathroom with bath and a separate shower stall, again this room has electric under floor heating. The Master bedroom has a king size oak double bed and direct access through large french windows to the courtyard.
The single room (not photographed) has a large divan type single bed and a Porte fermiere (stable door) giving direct access to the garden and steps up to the covered north west facing terrasse.
Opposite the bathroom across a small lobby is the laundry room with double sinks, cupboards, clothes washing machine and separate tumble dryer.
A door from the laundry room opens to the Cave which is a general store and contains the hot water tank and main switchboard.
Grounds.
The grounds amount to some 2200 sq m of grass and shrubs with some mature walnut trees.
Service...
La Chouette will be fully cleaned and serviced before your arrival and again during your stay when linen will be changed.
We always aim to have our service lady meet you on arrival, subject to a reasonable time, when she will show you the house, its electrics, water, heating, keys etc.
A welcome pack will await you and we provide what we hope will be interesting and useful information, when a booking is received.
